Plans for a new gas station have begun. At Mondays County Commissioner Meeting the manager of the Planning and Inspections Department brought a statement of consistency and reasonableness to the board. The statement proposed the rezoning does fall within the current Lincoln County land use plan. The rezoning being for 6 acres at the southeast corner of NC 150 and Lee Lawing Road. All commissioners voted to approve the rezoning. T. Motz owner of the parcel hopes to start construction in around six months and ideally complete the project in around a year. While there are concerns from the public about increased traffic issues at the intersection , most responses seemed to be in favor of having a new fuel station in the area.
